Van Buren County Hospital is a 25-bed, Critical Access hospital and is affiliated with MercyOne. As part of the affiliation, MercyOne provides administrative support to VBCH and additional resources for VBCH as it continues to face the challenges impacting rural health care providers.
Van Buren County Hospital offers acute, private, and skilled nursing care to our community. We also operate a 24/7 Emergency Department and a wide range of outpatient services, including pulmonology and general surgery.
To meet the needs of our community, the hospital owns and operates 4 medical clinics located in Birmingham, Cantril, Farmington, and Keosauqua.

Located at 819 Country Lane Road, nursing facility featuring modern care units and a holistic, restorative approach to mature, long-term residential care. it can also provide short-term rehabilitation with in/out patient services.

Located at 19248 Maple Ave, is a non-profit Residential Care Facility which serves persons who need assistance with living. They are dedicated to building opportunities for people with disabilities and provide services such as nutritional planning, medication monitoring, assistance with daily living skills, or help with money management.

One of the leading schools in the area with updated computer systems, well-trained staff, remodeled classrooms, a work-study program, & caring faculty all contribute to a 99% graduation rate.
The Villages Folk School specializes in providing learning experiences in traditional arts and skills. Classes are held in peaceful rural settings so students can return to a simpler time and witness the importance of the artisan in village-life. Classes range from blacksmithing and glass blowing to painting and sculpture.
Located at 608 1st Street, the Keosauqua Library offers an ever expanding collection searchable online, public use computers including wireless internet, children's programs, and a genealogy department. They offer a summer reading program. The library is connected to other libraries across the nation and has the ability to access resources through the inter-library loan system.

A joint project between the City of Keosauqua and the Keosauqua Economic Development Association, overlooks the Des Moines River and offers fully devoloped lots for residential construction.
